Karvonen Heart Rate Training Zones
Karvonen uses both your maximum and resting heart rates to calculate your zones.
It subtracts your resting heart rate from your maximum to give a heart rate reserve.
It then calculated your percentage using your heart rate reserve then adds the resting
heart rate back on to give the final figure. The idea is you adjust your zones from
day to day based on the resting heart rate figure you take each morning.
